We still love you

I just came from a really exciting, down-to-the-wire football game!
Aloha, along with their nationally ranked, already-signed-with-Oregon running back, made the trip across town for Tigard's home opener. The score was up and down the whole night, with amazing plays from both sides.

With 8.5 seconds to go, the Tigers down 34 to 36, we attempted a field goal from 31 yards. It was a sure thing. We were going to beat the mighty Warriors - and Thomas Tyner!

But it was wide. Just slightly, but wide.

After the initial shock wore off, the hundreds of students in the stadium started chanting:

"We still love you... we still love you..."

It warmed my heart! :)

PS - It was the marching band's first performance of the season, and they presented the opening song of their fall competition show. It was excellent! It's going to be a good season - band and football!
